'Johnny English' goes int'l on Facebook
Universal Pictures is extending its "social cinema" expierence overseas by offering "Johnny English" for rent via Facebook in the U.K. and Australia as well as the U.S., the first time the service will be offered to international markets. Pic will be available to rent through the film's fan page for 30 Facebook Credits, worth $3, for 48 hours. Rentals will be done through a "Social Theater" application that U designed with developer Milyoni, enabling viewers to comment on quotes and scenes. The announcement coincides with the release of the pic's sequel, "Johnny English Reborn," which opened in the U.K. on Oct. 7, in Oz on Sept. 15 and will open domestically on Oct. 21. "The Big Lebowski" was the first film Universal offered on the service back in August. Contact Justin Kroll at justin.kroll@variety.com
